Musicians of the same genre are usually seen supporting each other to bring the crown or award home but this isnt the case for Sonnie Badu as he has been busy promoting stonebwoy to win the awards instead of supporting his gospel colleague musician joe mettle ..
Ace Gospel Minister Sonnie Badu turned tables around on the 7th of april at 9pm when he went on his instagram page to hype the dance hall artiste stonebwoy to win awards in the upcoming biggest awards night in Ghana, he stated saying “I expect my boy @stonebwoyb to pick a lot of awards tomorrow at the VGMA , he has worked very hard .. I am always proud of you .. one day we will tell the world the story ..”
Gospel music in Ghana hasnt seen great spot light as compared to the secular music and with a great opportunity given to it this time around with one of its High spirited Minister Joe mettle the chance to win the artiste of the year for the first time ever in the history of the VGMAs, shouldnt this have been a great opportunity for all the gospel musician to team up and support their genre other than promoting secular music??
And doesnt it contradict with the holy scriptures that says that “darkness and light has nothing in common? (2 Corinthians 6:14).
Will gospel music continue to be dormant and not see the spotlight as secular music?
Or is the Ghanaian based Uk Minister just jealous of Joe mettle or he is just supporting his good friend stonebwoy?
Whiles other Gospel Musicians like OJ, Jeshurun Okyere just to mention a few are proud and hyping him and hoping to push the gospel music industry in Ghana, Sonnie Badu is busy hyping secular music.
Minister Joe Mettle has recently been on the news as he represented Ghana on the world stage at the Stellars awards held at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas,USA .the stellars is the biggest celebration that recognises and honours gospel music in the world. Joe mettle was named as an artiste with an International Sound among artis from England,Trindad,Japan,South Africa and France.
